Melbourne based automotive performance company HPF produced an outstanding achievement of over 6000 horsepower between three campaigned vehicles in the Annual Horsepower Heroes competition. The winning vehicle, a twin turbocharged, 7 litre V8 HSV Clubsport produced in excess of 1895 horsepower measured at the rear wheels. The two runners up were both Holden Commodores powered by a 6.7 litre single turbo V8, and a 6.8 litre twin turbo V8 producing 1529 and 1713 horsepower respectively. Horsepower figures at these levels are pushing the boundaries of automotive technology worldwide with interest in these achievements coming from the US where the majority of parts used in the builds originated. As a comparison of these power levels, it is the equivalent of 4 x Prime Movers, 7 x Holden SS Commodores or approximately double the Power/Weight ratio of a Bugatti Veyron. http://www.hp-f.com.au/site/index.php
